The Rangers scored first in the game in the top of the 1st inning when Luke Jenkins hit a double off the left field fence
to score Simon Bracken. The Orioles came right back. Jack Barksdale & Collin Sirbaugh both hit doubles over Rangers outfielders
to quickly tie the game. O's Isaac "Ice Man Gilman later scored Sirbaugh with an infield hit to give the Orioles the
lead. Peyton Surface then scored Mandel with a single to center & then Page scored when Walker Hilper drew a bases
loaded walk. When the dust cleared the Orioles had a 4-1 1st inning lead.
In the bottom of the 2nd the Orioles made it
5-1 when Sirbaugh's pop fly double scored the speedy Sawyer.
In the top of the third it was the Rangers who rallied.
Quinn Miller hit an RBI double then scored on Simon Bracken's single to center. Bracken then scored on a hit by Luke Jenkins
to cut the O's lead to one run at 5-4. The Orioles got a run back using a hit batter, an infield hit and two walks.
the Top of the 4th the Rangers rallied. Mathew "Bubba" Smith singled and scored on a hit by Reedy. Then Stakarl
scored on an infield hit by Christian Moore to tie the game. The Rangers continued to score when Miller hit a bases loaded
pitch off the left field fence for a two run double. A third strike pitch got away from the Orioles catcher to account for
another Ranger run and when it was all said and done the scoreboard read Rangers 9 Orioles 6.
The Orioles made it 9-7
when Barksdale hit a stand up triple and then scored on a passed ball. It stayed that way until the last of the sixth and
The Orioles, the home team came to bat needing two runs to starve off defeat. Gilliam, leading off beat
out and infield hit. The next two batters walked to load the bases with none out. Then Ranger Pitcher Simon Bracken struck
out the next two batters to set the stage for a game breaker at bat for Orioles clean up hitter Glenn Mandrel. Mandrel was
able to fight off a two strike pitch and loop a hit just out of the reach of the Ranger 2nd baseman for one run. Orioles Khyrin
Beasely then was able to score also on Mandrel's hit tying the game at 9-9. A foul pop fly looked as if it would be the 3rd
out but the Rangers could not pull it in and the ball dropped harmlessly to the ground. The next pitch went to the backstop
and Oriole runner on 3rd Barksdale broke for Home with the winning run and the Rangers could not cover the plate in time.
The play sparked a wild celebration by the Orioles as they had made an unlikely comeback to prevail 10-9 to win the Championship.
