in the season. That game was a 15-14 game won by the slimmest of margins, the Naturals winning that contest.
But in this game the Naturals started the top of the first by scoring five times. Leadoff batter Travis Tyson started the
rally and he would keep it going all game collecting four hits in four trips to the plate on this day. Redy Davis, Christopher
Nash, Dustin Rowe, Dustin Davis and Jason Nuna had hits as the Naturals built a 5-0 lead.

WESTSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH COMES FROM
BEHIND TO PULL OUT DRAMATIC 19-18 WIN OVER EAGLES
GAME OF THE WEEK #2
In Ringhaver's Softball Game of the Week (2nd Game) Westside Baptist church faced off against the Eagles. The Eagles batting
first started the game with six straight hits scoring six times in the first inning. Eric Clifton had a big double and Rob
Brown cleared the bases with a triple then scored himself on a grounder to make the score 6-0 before Westside even came to
Westside cut that lead in half. After a couple of walks Colby Wright put Westside on the board with a double. He was followed
by Chris Tipton who also doubled and that made the score 6-3 after one inning.
The Eagles kept rolling however and put
up seven runs with consecutive extra-base hits by Clifton, Ed Keller, Brown and Mike Robbins. That made the score 13-3.
Not to be denied Westside Baptist got five runs of its own including an inside the park home run by Nate Spote, a triple by
Wright and Tyler Phillips added a double in that inning. That made the score 13-8 after two full innings.
held the Eagles scoreless in the top of the third, turning a double play to end a Eagles scoring threat.

OF WESTSIDE SPOTE'S INSIDE THE PARK HOMER
Westside was only able to get one run when Scott Tessert scored Adam Roland with a two-out triple. Eagles still led in the
game after three innings 13-9.
The Eagles made that 15-9 in the top of the fourth when Clifton doubled to score a run and
Keller tripled to score another.
Westside got doubles from Wright, Tyler Philips and Collier Douglas and scored four
times to pull within two runs with the score 15-13. You could feel that something magical was going on by this time.
It looked like the Eagles were not going a score in the top of the fifth after two quick fly outs. However an error
and two straight hits scored a run for the Eagles with Alan Pierre getting the run batted in.
Westside batting in the bottom
of the fifth behind 16-13 had one man on and two outs. Then put together four straight hits, the big blow a double by Tipton.
Westside now had its first lead of the game 17-16.
The Eagles looked dead in the water unable to score in the top of the sixth. However Westside could not get it going either.
Westside was able to get a two-out double by Roland for an insurance run making the score 18-16.
Now it was do or die for
the Eagles in the top of the seventh and final inning. Keller started it with a double but the next two batters could not
get the ball out of the infield. Larry Harris came to the plate representing the tying run. But now the were two outs and
Harris had yet to get a hit in the game. Amazingly Harris went down town driving the ball out of the park for a game-tying
home run. Ronnie McCostin then reached on a double but was stranded there.
Westside Baptist now came to bat in the bottom of the seventh needing only a single run to win the game. It was the top of
the order for Westside. Kyle Youchum's line shot bounced over the shortstop's glove for leadoff single. Chris Knight collected
his fourth hit of the night with a single that dropped in front of the Eagles leftfielder. Winning run at second ...nobody
out. Nate Spote tried to hit the ball to the right side and move up the runners. He slapped the ball into the ground in front
of home plate but ran into the ball and was called out. Westside's cleanup hitter Colby Wright now stood at the dish. Wright
is a Giant fellow & came to bat having gone 4 for 4 at this point including two doubles and a triple . Swinging from his
heels he hit a towering pop fly into foul territory near third base. The Eagles third baseman and shortstop waited for the
ball to come out of orbit. But instead of catching it for the second out ... it dropped harmlessly between them. The foul
ball gave Westside & Wright new life. Wright, swinging at the next pitch lifted a high fly ball to left field. The Eagles
leftfielder was there in plenty of time but seem to lose the ball in the black evening sky and the ball plopped to the ground.
Youchum went immediately into giddyup when he saw the ball drop in raced around third to score the winning run and a 19-18
win for Westside Baptist Church.
HITS 3-RUN DINGER, JOE NAEWORTHY GOES 3 FOR 3...SCORES 3 RUNS FOR MOTIV8. RONIN HAS 2 RUNNERS NAILED ON
BASEPATHS LATE IN GAME... KILLS CHANCE FOR LATE COMEBACK
Team Motiv8 built
an early lead then had to hold off a resilient Ronin team to win an important game 11-10 in Thursday, April 11 action at RingHaver
softball park. Team Motiv8 essentially was able to win the game with timely hits and clutch defense. Ronin however fell victim
to some late game baserunning blunders. Twice getting baserunners nailed at third-base... key since one run was the difference
in this ballgame.
Mike Camp hit a big three run homer in the bottom of the second inning,
breaking up a 4-4 tie. Camp's home run gave Team Motiv8 a 7-4 lead... A lead They would not relinquish. Team Motiv8 on offense
used very good situational hitting. They were able to use four sacrifice flies during the game in maintaining their lead.
Ronin meanwhile missed a number of opportunities with runners in scoring position and was unable to come up with the
clutch hit. Then, late in the game and in position to tie the game, had runners thrown out on the base paths. Motivat8's leftfielder
Zack Smith came up big on defense. Smith had made a diving catch early on in the game... But the big clutch play was when
Smith threw out the tying run at third base to end the game and preserve the win.
Joe Naeworthy was "money" on offense for Team Motiv8. He had a double in the first, a single in the third
inning and a triple in the fifth inning. He also scored three runs and the eventual game-winner.
